Basketball Game Preview: Goddard Lions vs. North RedHawks

The Goddard Lions will head out to square off against the North RedHawks on Thursday. Goddard will be strutting in after a win while North will be coming in after a loss.

Goddard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Arkansas City with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 63-47. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Bishop Carroll and fell 71-25. The RedHawks were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

North's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Goddard, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Goddard came up short against North when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 81-74. Can Goddard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
