Softball Recap: Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Comes Up Short

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-12 to the Herron Achaeans. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Achaeans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hillari Lathrop led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Amelia Smith, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Herron, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Indianapolis Scecina Memorial will face off against Beech Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Herron, they will be taking part in a tournament against Indianapolis Washington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
