Baseball Recap: Millville Has No Trouble Against Muncy

Millville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Muncy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Quakers were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Indians on Tuesday. The Quakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Gunner Sternhagen and Dylan Brokenshire did most of the damage at the plate: Sternhagen scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Brokenshire scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Johnson, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Millville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Muncy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Looking ahead, Millville will challenge Bucktail at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Muncy, they will take on Bloomsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.14 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
