Baseball Game Preview: Torres Toros vs. Sotomayor Wolves

Torres has gone a perfect 4-0 against Sotomayor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Toros will face off against the Wolves at 2:15 p.m. Torres is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Torres took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Marquez 6-4.

Jouse Solis Rojas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Gonz?lez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sotomayor put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Elizabeth. Considering the Wolves have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sotomayor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Torres, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Torres took their victory against Sotomayor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Toros since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
