Soccer Game Preview: Pontotoc vs. Lafayette

The Pontotoc Warriors will take on the Lafayette Commodores on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pontotoc is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Canton, sneaking past 4-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Lafayette waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Warriors.

Lafayette is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those 12 contests. As for Pontotoc, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-5-1 record.

Pontotoc came up short against Lafayette in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can Pontotoc avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
