Softball Recap: Acton-Boxborough Takes a Loss

If Acton-Boxborough was feeling good fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Cambridge Rindge & Latin on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Revolution came up short against the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors on Friday, falling 16-7. The loss continues a trend for the Revolution in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Acton-Boxborough saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ila Gillespie, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Acton-Boxborough's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Acton-Boxborough will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Hudson at 9:00 a.m. The Revolution are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, they will be playing at home against Silver Lake Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
