Soccer Recap: Hayward Comes Up Short

Hayward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the San Leandro Pirates. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Farmers couldn't quite close it out.

Hayward's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for San Leandro, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-3.

Hayward will challenge Encinal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hayward is facing Encinal at the right time seeing as Encinal is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for San Leandro, they will head out on the road to face off against Castro Valley on Tuesday. San Leandro will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Castro Valley will have lost five straight heading into Tuesday's matchup.
