Volleyball Recap: Madera Comes Up Short

Madera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers. If the Coyotes were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-8.

San Joaquin Memorial had a senior duo take command as Sarah Villalvazo had 11 digs and five assists and Jillian Yovino had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Yovino.

Madera's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for San Joaquin Memorial, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 13-11 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Madera is set to square off against their familiar foe Bullard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, San Joaquin Memorial will face off against rival Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
