Recap: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Parkland Matadors

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Bel Air Highlanders ultimately got the result they hoped for last Friday. They managed a 48-42 win over Parkland. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Bel Air had a senior duo take command as Noah Moreno threw for 385 yards and seven touchdowns and Oscar Martinez picked up 180 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Davis, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Bel Air's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Jesus Lopez and his two sacks.

Loss or not, Parkland got some senior leadership from ERIK ORTIZ who rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns and ANTHONY CARRILLO who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns. CARRILLO hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.

Bel Air's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Parkland, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bel Air will take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 24. As for Parkland, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hanks at 7:00 p.m.
