Volleyball Recap: Pacheco Takes a Loss

Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lathrop Spartans, falling 3-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pacheco took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-11, 25-21.

Gabriel Faalii went supernova for Lathrop, getting 17 kills, eight aces, three digs, and two blocks. Faalii is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Mario Luna was another key player, getting 29 assists and two aces.

Pacheco's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Lathrop, their record now sits at 9-5.

Coming up, Pacheco will take on Central Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lathrop, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Weston Ranch on the 20th.
