Basketball Game Preview: Stuttgart Ricebirds vs. Lonoke Jackrabbits

The Stuttgart Ricebirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Lonoke Jackrabbits on Wednesday. Stuttgart is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.

Stuttgart is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They blew past Wynne 62-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Ricebirds have posted against the Yellowjackets since February 14, 2019.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stuttgart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Owens, who posted 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Owens has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniya Colvin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, Lonoke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 91-76 bruising from Barton.

Lonoke's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Stuttgart, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Stuttgart beat Lonoke 56-45 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Does Stuttgart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lonoke turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
