Riverside-Durham had won five straight games and Darryn Johnson did his part to make it six on Thursday. The Pirates enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over the Southern Alamance Patriots thanks in part to Johnson, who shot 82% from the field en route to 31 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Young, who posted five points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage.

Riverside-Durham's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Southern Alamance, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Riverside-Durham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-34 victory against Carrboro on the 12th. As for Southern Alamance, they will be home for the holidays to greet East Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
