Basketball Recap: Drake Nemetz Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Elgin/Pope John

West Holt won the last time they faced Elgin/Pope John and things went their way on Friday too. The West Holt Huskies came out on top against the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack by a score of 54-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

West Holt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drake Nemetz led the charge by going 8 of 14 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. Those 22 points gave Nemetz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Rentschler, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

West Holt's record now sits at 12-3. As for Elgin/Pope John, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Holt will welcome Neligh-Oakdale at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Holt is facing Neligh-Oakdale at the right time seeing as Neligh-Oakdale is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Elgin/Pope John, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
