Baseball Game Preview: Dover Eagles vs. Kennard-Dale Rams

Dover is 0-7 against Kennard-Dale since April of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 8:30 a.m.

On Wednesday, Dover didn't have quite enough to beat New Oxford and fell 5-4.

Meanwhile, Kennard-Dale waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Trojans 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Giovanni Sisti made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kennard-Dale let Gavin Holmes and Avery Chenoweth run wild. Holmes went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Chenoweth went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Chenoweth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Hoffer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Kennard-Dale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Kennard-Dale's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
