Softball Recap: Sunlake Wins Going Away Against Land O' Lakes

While Sunlake put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Land O' Lakes. The Seahawks put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 6-0 win. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Madison Siders's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sunlake let Emily Ward and Abigail Avant run wild. Ward went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple, while Avant scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lexi Romero, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Sunlake and bumps their season record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Land O' Lakes, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunlake will square off against Auburn Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Land O' Lakes, they will take on George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
