Baseball Recap: Ottawa Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ottawa). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Newark Norsemen on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.

The victory (which was Ottawa's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Newark, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ottawa will host Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Streator at 10:00 a.m. Streator has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.2 runs per game on average), something Newark will no doubt try to take advantage of.
