Baseball Recap: Arroyo Grande Takes a Loss

Arroyo Grande lost against St. Joseph last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Linkin Whitney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Arroyo Grande: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ruben Servin, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Arroyo Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for St. Joseph, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arroyo Grande will venture away from home to challenge Righetti at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Joseph, they will head out to square off against Mission College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
