Basketball Recap: Carver Takes a Loss

Carver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 67-42 to the South Atlanta Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Hornets are ranked 112th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Atlanta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaelin Ellis, who posted 15 points and six boards. That's the most rebounds Ellis has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Bol Deng, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Atlanta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Carver Panthers duke it out with the Lovett Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Atlanta, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Therrell at 7:00 p.m.
