Preview: Parkway Panthers vs. Haughton Buccaneers
Parkway is 8-2 against Haughton since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Parkway Panthers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Haughton Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Haughton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Parkway, who comes in off a win.
Even though Airline scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Parkway still came out on top. Parkway narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Airline 62-59.
Meanwhile, Haughton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by Captain Shreve 56-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Haughton has scored all season.
Parkway's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-14. As for Haughton, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-19.
Parkway beat Haughton 90-77 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkway since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
