Basketball Recap: Meridian Lions vs. NYOS Charter Jaguars
The Meridian Lions's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 65-64 photo finish over NYOS Charter. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Harman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark-Anthony Amichia, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
Meridian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for NYOS Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. NYOS Charter will take on the Dragons at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Da Vinci is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
