Metrolina Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Hickory Grove Christian Lions. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Case Gibbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Metrolina Christian Academy's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Pierce, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Pierce a new career-high in hits.

Metrolina Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Hickory Grove Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Metrolina Christian Academy and Hickory Grove Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Metrolina Christian Academy will square off against Christ the King at 4:30 p.m. on Monday up 200 places (6 vs. 206). Metrolina Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Hickory Grove Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Hickory Grove Christian (ranked 97th) will meet SouthLake Christian Academy (ranked 304th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
