Baseball Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

Dexter extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-13. They lost 15-2 to the New Mexico Military Institute Colts. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Colts this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-2 loss on April 2nd.

As for New Mexico Military Institute, their record now sits at 9-12. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 11 runs or more this season.

For New Mexico Military Institute's part, they got a massive performance out of Makihi Phillips, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The Colts are 4-1 when Phillips posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Spear, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Dexter has already played their next matchup, a 16-0 loss against Eunice on the 23rd. As for New Mexico Military Institute, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against East Mountain on the 24th.
