            Softball Recap: McHenry Warriors vs. Grant Community Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            McHenry fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Grant Community  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by  just one  run.
 Natalie Bender spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits.
 At the plate, McHenry got a big performance out of  Danica McCarthy, who  went 3-for-4 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run. That  triple was  McCarthy's first of the season.  Chloe Clark was another key player,  going 1-for-5 with one  home run.
McHenry is  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 14-18. As for Grant Community,  with the  win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-15-1.
As of now, neither McHenry nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
