Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Point). They had just enough and edged out the Sheldon Irish 12-11 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Dragons, who have now won three games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Eduardo Padilla, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Aaron Ruiz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

West Point lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

West Point's victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for Sheldon, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, West Point will be taking part in a tournament against Fruitland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fruitland will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something West Point surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sheldon, they will square off against Pueblo Central at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
