Volleyball Recap: Stamford Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Trumbull

Stamford faced Trumbull in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Black Knights fell 3-1 to the Eagles. That makes it the first time this season the Black Knights have let down their home crowd.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 17-25, 25-17.

Alec Antipuesto paced Stamford's offense, picking up 14 kills. Antipuesto got some help from Ethan Taylor and his 31 assists. Taylor also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with MD Arfat Chowdhury, racking up two apiece.

Trumbull was led to victory by Aarav Modi and Dean Chamberlin. Modi had nine digs and two assists, while Chamberlin had 12 kills and nine digs. Chamberlin is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least seven every time he's taken the court this season.

Stamford's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Trumbull, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Stamford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against New Milford on the 12th. As for Trumbull, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Danbury on the 12th.
