Eureka got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against the Fredonia Yellowjackets by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Eureka never let Fredonia on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20.

Eureka's offense was headlined by Arabella Shepherd and Hannah Perrier, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Raylee Boles and her six assists. Ellianna Coulter controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Eureka's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Fredonia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-23-3.

Coming up, Fredonia will head out to square off against Altoona-Midway on Monday. Eureka will be paying especially close attention to the Yellowjackets' match: after the Yellowjackets face off against the Jets, they'll take on Eureka again on Monday.
