Holy Trinity improves to 3-1 in NSCHSAA league play.
Juinor Tlyer Seidman’s 17 points ,six steals , and five
assist along with a dominant performance down low by Richard Bess who had 12-points and 8 rebounds , helped Holy
Trinity improve to 6-6, 3-1 in NSCHSAA league play with a 72-35 win of the St.
Dominic Bay Hawks. This win was the Titans third consecutive win in league play
. This was the first time the Titans have won three straight games since the
span from January 4 - January 12, 2008. In this span the Titans beat
Kellenberg, St.Mary’s, and St.John the Baptist.
Holy Trinity came out on fire in the first quarter. Titans were tied at two but in a span of
40-seconds Seidman changed that by making three straight fast-break layups.
Bess added four points to complete the Titans 12-2 run to start the game. St
Dom’s was able to cut the Holy Trinity led to 14-6 with 10 seconds left in the
quarter . But in the winding seconds of the first quarter Seidman fired from
half-court and hit the shot to beat the buzzer. At the end of one quarter of play
the Titans led the Bay Hawks 17-6.
The second quarter was more the same . Holy Trinity began
the quarter on a 10-2 run .This run was led by five points by Sophomore Jason
Order and a three pointer by Senior Ajani Hibbert. The teams played even for
the rest of the quarter and going into half time the Titans led the Bay Hawks
33-11. Seidman led all scorers at the half with 14 points.
The second half was all Titans . IN the third quarter Holy
Trinity outscored St. Dom’s 25-5 . This quarter was led by the two man down low. Junior Rickey
Van Allen had eight points and Bess had four points in this quarter. At the end of three quarter Holy Trinity led
St.Dom’s 58-16. The fourth quarter was evenly matched and Trinity was able to
hold on a defeat St.Dom’s 72-35 .
St.Dom’s forward Kyle Lane tied for the game high in scoring
with 17-points . With the loss the Bay Hawks fall to 1-7,0-3 in league play .
Holy Trinity will try to win its fourth straight game on Sunday versus Poly
Prep.
