Newman International Academy picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They breezed by the Covington Owls to the tune of 54-14. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Arianna Miranda was her usual excellent self, going 14 of 21 en route to 29 points and seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Newman International Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Khori Epps, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Newman International Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for Covington, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Newman International Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Irion County at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Covington, they and Oglesby will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
