Volleyball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Comes Up Short

Wilkes-Barre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Holy Redeemer Royals. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jordany Rodriguez paced Wilkes-Barre's offense, picking up seven kills. Rodriguez got some help from Tijan Njai and his ten assists.

Among those leading the charge was Jack Wasiakowski, who had 16 assists and one block. He has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last 23 times he's played.

Wilkes-Barre's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for Holy Redeemer, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Wilkes-Barre wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Hazleton Area on the 31st. As for Holy Redeemer, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Wyoming Valley West on the 1st.
