Football Recap: Muhlenberg Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Muhlenberg has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were outmatched by the Spring Grove Rockets and fell 35-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Muhls were not able to get on the board.

Spring Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Davis Baum led the charge by rushing for 56 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 121 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns Baum has posted since back in October of 2024. Brody Redding was another key back, rushing for 122 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Muhlenberg's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Spring Grove, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Muhlenberg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spring Grove, they will take on New Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rockets 14.8, the Colonials 11) so any points scored will be well earned.
