If St. Helena was feeling good fresh off their 49-27 takedown of Mendocino last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Helena Saints took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Las Plumas Thunderbirds. The Saints' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Las Plumas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but T.J. Thompson led the charge by putting up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noeh Morrison, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Helena fell to 12-1. As for Las Plumas, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

St. Helena and Las Plumas should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. St. Helena (ranked 256th) will meet Kelseyville (ranked 810th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Las Plumas (ranked 269th) will meet Yreka (ranked 887th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
