Baseball Recap: Frankton Has No Trouble Against Sheridan

Frankton barely beat Sheridan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Blackhawks 18-5 on Monday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Finn Cress looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Shaun Jarrett and Caine Oakley did most of the damage at the plate: Jarrett went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double, while Oakley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Oakley has become a key player for Frankton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Riley Inglis was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Frankton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Frankton and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Sheridan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frankton will square off against Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Sheridan, they will welcome Clinton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
