Basketball Recap: Northside Takes a Loss

Northside lost against Harris County two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Northside Patriots had to suffer through a 65-30 loss at the hands of the Harris County Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Tigers are ranked 74th).

Harris County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allana Coulter, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and six blocks. Coulter is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Ja'Niya Broome was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Harris County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Northside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-41 loss against Midtown on the 18th. As for Harris County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-50 win against Starr's Mill on the 14th.
