Baseball Recap: St. Louis Homeschool P Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

St. Louis HomeSchool P's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lighthouse Christian Chargers as they made off with an 11-1 victory. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Samuel Hart spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because St. Louis HomeSchool P is 10-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 16-17 otherwise.

On the hitting side, St. Louis HomeSchool P got a massive performance out of Isaiah Skaggs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Skaggs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vinny Tornatore, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

St. Louis HomeSchool P always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lighthouse Christian only posted an OBP of .300.

St. Louis HomeSchool P's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-18. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lighthouse Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-11 record this season.

Lighthouse Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 22nd. Hopefully St. Louis HomeSchool P paid attention to the Chargers' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Chargers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
