Basketball Game Preview: Walkertown Wolfpack vs. West Stokes Wildcats

Walkertown and West Stokes are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Walkertown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

On Monday, Walkertown took their matchup with ease, bagging an 82-47 victory over McMichael. The Wolfpack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Walkertown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenan Grady, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 25 points and eight rebounds. Grady's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Jaden McCandies was another key player, going 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Stokes). They blew past North Forsyth 75-51 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.

Walkertown pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points over those games. As for West Stokes, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Walkertown came out on top in a nail-biter against West Stokes in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 65-62. Does Walkertown have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Stokes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
