Basketball Recap: Hernando Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Briauna Richardson and Kensington Claus

Hernando Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost to the Lakeside Christian Lions on the road by a 39-23 margin. Hernando Christian Academy was not able to make up for their defeat to Lakeside Christian from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Hernando Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Kensington Claus and Briauna Richardson. Claus posted 11 points, while Richardson earned eight points and six rebounds.

Lakeside Christian was led to victory by Lex Mello and Mauricia Climes. Mello had 12 points and seven boards, while Climes put up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Mello has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Hernando Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Lakeside Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.

Hernando Christian Academy has already played their next matchup (against North Tampa Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lakeside Christian has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Canterbury.
