Softball Game Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. Mt. Gilead Indians

Lucas has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mt. Gilead recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cubs will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Lucas and four for Mt. Gilead dating back to last season.

Lucas lost 16-6 to New London on Friday.

Brooklyn Boquette and Destiny Foss did some serious damage despite the final result: Boquette scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Foss scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Emma Brown was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mt. Gilead came up short against Centerburg on Monday, falling 17-1.

Mt. Gilead's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lucas, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Lucas' way against Mt. Gilead in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Lucas made off with a 17-5 win. Will the Cubs repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
