Basketball Recap: Pike Central Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Pike Central kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Boonville Pioneers and fell 53-25. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Pike Central lost, don't look at Alyssa McCutchan. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points. Kylee Query was another key player, putting up two points.

Emily Parker was a one-woman wrecking crew For Boonville. as she almost dropped a double-double with 33 points and nine boards. The contest was Parker's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Carlie Kuebler, who put up six points and five assists.

The win got Boonville back to even at 1-1.

Pike Central has already played their next game, a 52-27 defeat against Vincennes Lincoln on the 18th. As for Boonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-64 loss against Evansville Harrison on the 15th.
