Volleyball Recap: Catholic - N.I. Wins Going Away Against Ursuline Academy

With a playoff win on the line, Catholic - N.I. rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ursuline Academy Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Catholic - N.I. walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-16.

Amelie Trappey paced Catholic - N.I.'s offense, picking up 12 kills. Trappey were helped by Renee Frederick and MacKenzie Batiste, who contributed 16 assists each. Trappey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Catholic - N.I. is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-16 record this season. As for Ursuline Academy, they dropped their record down to 10-17 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Catholic - N.I. will head out to face off against Pope John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ursuline Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
