Basketball Game Preview: Deerfield Spartans vs. Wichita County Indians

The Deerfield Spartans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Wichita County Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Deerfield will be strutting in after a victory while Wichita County will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Deerfield turned things around against Rolla on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-57 win over the Pirates. The Spartans pushed the score to 61-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deerfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adriel Clymer, who went 8 for 13 en route to 20 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Cristian Botello, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Wichita County played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Sublette, falling 71-47. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Larks: they've now lost three in a row.

Wichita County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Deerfield, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.

Deerfield came up short against Wichita County in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 57-50. Can Deerfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
