Softball Recap: Polson Beats Browning for Their Fourth Straight Win

Polson strolled into their game on Thursday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Browning Indians a 24-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Madison Turner was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Turner was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That hit marked the first that she has got this season.

In other batting news, Jaliyah Pierre was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Polson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Polson's victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Polson will challenge rival Whitefish at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Browning is set to take on their familiar foe Ronan at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians have a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while the Chiefs will come in with three straight wins.
