The North Fork Miners will face off against the Cedaredge Bruins at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
North Fork is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Rangely on Saturday as North Fork made off with a 14-4 win.
Mario Gama was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Payson Pene was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. B Cotten was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-6.
North Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cedaredge never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Grand Valley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.
Brady Cooper made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Cooper was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Rupp, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rylan Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Cedaredge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for North Fork, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Fork has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cedaredge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
North Fork couldn't quite finish off Cedaredge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can North Fork avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
