Wharton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 18-2 to the Columbia Roughnecks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughnecks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-7 back in March.

Wharton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layden Wynn, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Wharton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9-2 record this season.
