Football Recap: Wheatley Wildcats vs. Stafford Spartans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wheatley can now relate to. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (41-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Stafford can attribute much of their success to Zachary Brown, who threw for 62 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dillan Tatum was another key player, rushing for 94 yards on only 13 carries.
Wheatley's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Stafford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Wheatley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stafford, they and Pine Tree are set to duel on Friday. Pine Tree will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Stafford surely won't give up without a fight.
