Football Recap: North Tahoe Takes a Loss

North Tahoe lost against Pershing County back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lakers were dealt a 40-7 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1031st in California, while the Mustangs are ranked 46th in Nevada).

Everett Coughlin threw for 123 yards on ten of 25 attempts. On the ground, Nathan Powell rushed for 28 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for North Tahoe and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-1 Incline (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81.7% over those games). As for Pershing County, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

North Tahoe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 26-6 victory against West Wendover on the 3rd. As for Pershing County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 46-0 win against Incline on the 3rd.
