Volleyball Recap: Shelton Comes Up Short

Shelton was the 3-0 winner over Overton when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Shelton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-18, 25-15.

Erin Gegg paced Shelton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Gegg got some help from Parker Lowe and her 20 assists. Finally, Gegg was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Shelton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Overton, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Shelton has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against St. Patrick's on the 30th. As for Overton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Central Valley on the 30th.
