Baseball Recap: Payson Takes a Loss

Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to the Timpanogos Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 last Tuesday.

Payson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Neves, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Kyler Verwer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Timpanogos, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

While Payson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
