Two dominant backs in Jayden Allen and Dante Casdia are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the New Britain Golden Hurricanes and the Glastonbury Guardians will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
New Britain barely beat Southington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Hurricanes simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat the Blue Knights 42-14. Considering the Golden Hurricanes have won three contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Billy Seymour had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 59 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 163 yards and one TD. 97 of those passing yards were hauled in by Todd Samuel.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: New Britain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
New Britain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Samuel and Allen. Allen is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 117 every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while Glastonbury put up some points last Friday, the same can't be said for Manchester. The Guardians took down the Red Hawks 16-0. The Guardians haven't had any issues with the Red Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
New Britain better keep an eye on Connor Finnerty. He was instrumental in Glastonbury's win, rushing for 37 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 133 yards on 11 of 16 attempts. Those 37 rushing yards gave Finnerty a new career-high.
New Britain's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Glastonbury, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
New Britain took a serious blow against Glastonbury in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 49-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Finnerty, who threw for 230 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Now that the Golden Hurricanes know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
