Softball Recap: Lyons Gets the Win

Lyons won the last time they faced Hinsdale South and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Hornets 5-4.

Lucy Lee looked comfortable as she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Alice Bruckner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Jacklin, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Lyons was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Lyons now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hinsdale South, their record is now 2-7.

Looking ahead, Lyons will head out to take on Montini Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hinsdale South, they will welcome Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
