Game recap: St. Anne's-Belfield High School Football Team defeats Isle of Wight Academy

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. - St. Anne's-Belfield (Charlottesville, Va.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 10 points, drop to three before the final whistle blew on a 10-7 victory over Isle of Wight Academy (Isle of Wight, Va.).

After taking the lead on a field goal in the first quarter, the Saints were up 3-0 at the half.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at three at the start of the fourth.

Isle of Wight Academy's lone touchdown came on a 6-yard pass from Brandon Saxby to Christian Pittman in the third quarter.

St. Anne's-Belfield has had a tough season, allowing 31.8 points per game. However, St. Anne's-Belfield's defense stepped up, holding the Chargers well below their season average of 18.2 points per game.
